What is a Doula?:

The word “doula” comes from the ancient Greek meaning “a woman who serves” and is now used to refer to a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period.

Labor Doula Service:

  • Studies have shown that when doulas attend birth, labors are shorter with fewer complications, babies are healthier and they breastfeed more easily.

What our time together will consist of:

  • 2-3 prenatal visits
  • Unlimited text emails and phone calls
  • Supportive labor assistance for duration of labor
  • Breastfeeding assistance 1-2 hours right after birth
  • 1-3 postpartum visits

Early Labor Home Support:

  • Assistance for those families wanting an epidural but looking to labor at home for the benefits of labor progression.

What our time together will consist of:

  • support through early labor
  • advice on positions to facilitate the progression of labor
  • promotion on relaxation, breathing, and massage

Daytime Postpartum Doula Service

Providing evidenced based information, to help families in those first days, weeks, and months after bringing home a new baby. The information covers topics of Emotional & Physical Recovery from Birth, Mother–Baby Bonding, Basic Newborn Care, Infant Feeding, Infant Soothing, Basic Clean-up & Laundry, and Meal prep.

What our time together will consist of:

  • 1 or More visits a week with a minimum of 2hours
  • Unlimited text emails and phone calls
  • Supportive assistance after labor
  • Breastfeeding assistance
